Dr Devitt’s Retirement

Dr Hilary Devitt retired from Hawthorn Surgery last week, and we would like to thank all of the patients who came in to say goodbye and left messages in her Retirement Book.

The Hawthorn Surgery Allotment Group presented her with flowers and vegetables grown on our allotment, the Hawthorn Surgery Singing Group sang some of her favourite songs, and there was lots of cake!

We all wish Dr Devitt a very long and happy retirement.

Allotment and Singing Group news

The Allotment and Singing Groups are once again meeting on a weekly basis (allotment on a Wednesday morning at Cobden Road allotments and Singing Group on a Monday at 2pm at the surgery). New members are very welcome – just contact reception for more information.

New Staff Members

A new GP has joined the Team at Hawthorn Surgery. He is Dr Thomas Pymar, and he will be working at the surgery on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

We have also recruited three new Receptionists to bolster the Reception/Admin Team. Please bear with us whilst our new staff settle in – they have a lot to learn in a short space of time.

Thank you.
